Community Nurse Jobs. The Youth Criminal Justice Act and other federal and provincial laws require Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) to provide inpatient and outpatient assessment and treatment services to young people that are ordered by the courts or linked to the courts. In accordance with the Criminal Code of Canada, YFPS also helps young people who have been found not guilty by reason of mental illness or not being able to stand trial.
Services are offered by outpatient clinics and contracted service providers all over the state. BYCS gets mental health assistance from an inpatient assessment unit (IAU) in Burnaby. Five large areas are served by regional outpatient centers in Burnaby, Langley, Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince George, Kamloops, and Kelowna. These areas are the North, the Interior, Vancouver Island, South Burnaby, and the Lower Mainland.

Who can apply:
- BA in nursing plus an MA in a clinical human services field, like social work, child and youth care, counseling psychology, clinical psychology, or something similar; OR an MA in nursing.
- Registered with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives to work as a nurse.
- I've been a clinical counselor for two years now, and I've worked with people who have a mix of physical, mental, and/or concurrent drug abuse or misuse disorders.
- Must have a valid class 5 BC driver's license with no restrictions or a similar license from another Canadian province and keep it up to date.
